    The Executive Director of Operations (EDO) oversees the organization’s ongoing operations and procedures. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the EDO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and establishes policies that promote Emerge’s mission, values and vision through its operations. The EDO is responsible for the efficiency of the business, which includes maintaining control of diverse business operations, financial processes, facilities and procedures as well as establishing and following a set of policies and systems.

    By setting and monitoring comprehensive goals for performance and growth, the EDO leads employees and encourages maximum performance and dedication. The EDO role is a high-visibility position, requiring strong communication skills and the responsibility of being called upon when needed to positively represent the organization in the community and with our strategic partner sites and organizations. The EDO must maintain the highest level of integrity and lead by example in all areas.

    Executive Director of Operations Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide day-to-day leadership and management at Emerge headquarters, with our staff and with our partner sites and organizations
    • Demonstrate close adherence to Emerge core values which are based on Christ-centered practices and principles
    • Responsible for directing the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objective
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and public speaking skills, both practiced and impromptu
    • Dedication to building and growing a strong and stable workforce
    • Oversee the ongoing maintenance and improvements of buildings and facilities
    • Ability to comfortably and energetically present the company and its products publicly
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, including the ability to recognize and cultivate rising talent
    • Work with the Development Department on growing financial support from donor/partners
    • High-level understanding of all business functions such as IT, HR, Finance, Development, Marketing, etc.
    • Ensure optimal financial efficiency in areas of organizational expense
    • Aptitude in sound decision-making and problem-solving in pressure situations
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, policies, budgets, processes, and staff

    Executive Director of Operations Requirements and Qualifications

    • BS/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; MBA is a plus
    • Proven experience as Operations Director or a similar relevant role
    • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
    • Understanding of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

  • Clinical EMPLOYMENT

    LPCC, PhD, or LISW Needed:

    EMERGE has an immediate opening for 1 full-time or 2 part-time Ohio Independently Licensed Counselors, Psychologists, or LISWs who are passionate about working with Adults and Young Adults to join our growing multi-site team of 36 clinicians at our Main Campus in Akron, OH.

    Successful candidates will have the following required skills:

    -A Minimum of 8 years  experience in working with trauma and high risk populations and experience in using EMDR, DBT, and Expressive Arts Techniques with this population.

    -Experience in the integration of the Christian Faith in counseling.

    -Experience using IFS in the treatment process.

    -Capable of independence in clinical work and a desire to collaborate in a team environment.

    -Proficiency in the use of electronic medical  records: Current system is CareLogic.

    In order to be considered for a practicum/internship, please send the following:

    1. A Cover letter (Please specify your current degree program)

        a. Including a statement of faith

        b. Supervision/ supervisory needs

        c. Intended start and finish date of internship

        d. Population and clinical interests

           i. Children, adolescents, adults, couples families

           ii. i.e. depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, etc.

    2. Resume.

    3. After we have expressed interest in interviewing you, please send three reference letters (including at least 1 professional reference and 1 pastoral reference and 1 educational reference) sent to:

                  Reference letters should include-  

                  a.  What reasons would you give to show the readiness of this applicant for their practicum/internship?

                  b.  How has this applicant been able to show you their leadership skills, clinical knowledge, personal boundaries and strengths in their life?  

                  c.  List 2 positive attributes about this person and 2 areas in which this applicant could/should address to become a more effective Christian Counselor.

    Please note-- Each degree and Graduate program has different requirements for supervision.  We have LPCC-S and LISW-S available to do supervision or a PhD.  Other supervision needs may not be able to be met by our clinical team at this time.  

    **After you are being considered for a practicum/internship, we will also need an unofficial copy of your transcripts (showing that you are enrolled in a practicum/internship course).

In the event that you do not receive a response this likely means that we have  already filled the available positions and you are, unfortunately, not being considered for an internship at EMERGE.     Our volunteer program has blessed EMERGE with hundreds of service hours every year.  This help has provided us with the extra hands to keep up with the continual needs of our growing ministry.  EMERGE appreciates the generous service of people who wish to volunteer.  Their commitment allows us to complete our mission of providing help for the healthy and hope for the hurting.


    Opportunities are available for those interested!  We have something for everyone.  Projects are available for groups or individuals and projects that are completed in a day, or weekly projects and everything in between.   

    If your volunteering is part of a school requirement please send us the appropriate information requested below---if not, please simply send us a email stating your reasons for wanting to volunteer with a statement of faith.
