The Board of Directors announces the appointment of Dr. Robert Crosby as the President of EMERGE Counseling Services. Dr. Crosby has served as the Vice President of Southeastern University and as Professor of Practical Theology in the Barnett College of Ministry and Theology. He holds a doctoral degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is completing a PhD at Regent University. Dr. Crosby and his wife, Pamela, are the co-founders of Teaming Life, an organization that equips couples and families to thrive. Their newest book together, is "The Will of a Man & The Way of a Woman: Balancing & Blending Together." They conduct services, seminars, and conferences on topics related to pastoral health, wellness, marriage, and team-building.
Donald A. Lichi, PhD. is a licensed psychologist and currently serves as the Vice President of EMERGE Counseling Services. Dr. Lichi is an adjunct professor with Trinity International University (IL), the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS), the Asia Theological Center (Singapore), and All Nations Theological Seminary (Malawi, Africa). He has been a speaker at numerous conferences and workshops on pastoral health, Christian Education, parenting, marriage, and family issues. He has published several articles on Christian mental health. He is the co-author of the book, Broken Windows of the Soul (Moody Press). He serves on the Pastoral Teaching Team of the Akron Chinese Christian Church and the board of Emmanuel Christian Academy which ministers to "at risk" children in the inner city of Akron, OH. Dr. Lichi was in private practice for over five years, taught school, and directed a school-based counseling program for six years. He also taught for six years in the graduate school at the University of Akron. While in the United States Air Force he served for three years in Italy and three years in Alaska. Recent ministry has taken him to India, Brazil, Thailand, Ecuador, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Romania, China, Malaysia, Russia, Hungary, Nicaragua, and Singapore. Best of all, he is married to Marcie and they have three adult children and seven grandchildren.
Steve Dunleavey comes to EMERGE with 15 years of experience in Christian counseling and six years in pastoral ministry. Over the years, Steve has served at EMERGE as an independently licensed counseling supervisor, the Director of Education, and in 2016 was promoted to the position of Director of Clinical Services at EMERGE. However, Steve's most cherished roles in life are that of husband to Kristen, and father to his twins, Cooper and Finley.
In his professional role, Steve is passionate about relational leadership and integrating Biblical and theological truth with sound psychological principles to help people truly heal and experience the abundant life and freedom that Jesus promised. It is this passion that guides his leadership of the clinical team at EMERGE.
Steve has a DMin in Biblical Counseling, an MA in Clinical Pastoral Counseling (The MA Degree led to LPCC licensure in Ohio), and a BA in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Ministries. Steve leads marriage retreats and seminars on various topics, is on the Executive Leadership Team and is a Counselor Training Supervisor at EMERGE. Steve has also been an Adjunct Professor at Ashland Theological Seminary in their Practical Theology and Mental Health Counseling Departments for the past 15 years.
Todd came to EMERGE with over 20 years experience in Behavioral Health. He felt called to serve at EMERGE having worked his entire career in the non-profit sector. He is a graduate of the University of Akron where he received his BS in Finance and Associates in Accounting. Todd also holds a Masters of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary. While not at EMERGE, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. He also plays a large part in serving his church.
